We publish Windows install notes for the MIT game engine editor. Release files stay on GitHub. The winget package id is checked against microsoft/winget-pkgs on each review.

Who writes it

We are a small editorial team. Upstream project maintainers do not ship a fork of the binary through this guide. We verify install commands and document features that appear in the upstream README, docs, and release notes.

This is an independent install guide for the Windows editor. Every installer path links back to the official GitHub release and the winget package.

How guides are verified

We re-read microsoft/winget-pkgs for the PackageIdentifier, the GitHub Releases asset list, and the project LICENSE/docs when a new stable tag appears. Commands that were not executed on a physical Windows PC stay marked UNVERIFIED in RESEARCH.md until a real run confirms them.

  • Match the win64 zip pattern on the current stable tag.
  • Confirm the winget InstallerUrl still points at GitHub Releases.
  • Refresh comparison claims only from documented upstream facts.

Why this editor

Criteria: public GitHub source, MIT licence text on the repo, a winget id with a GitHub InstallerUrl, and a clear Windows win64 zip story. If a better-maintained Windows option appears with clearer packaging for the same job, we would say so in editorial updates.

Corrections

Wrong commands, stale asset names, or accessibility problems go through contact. We fix factual errors after we verify them against upstream sources.
